Don Bedford’s 2003 Chrysler PT “Dream” Series 2

Representing Iso-HEET® Brand Fuel Treatments

isoHEET Featured Ride Don Bedford 2003 Chrysler PT Dream Series 2

This is my 2003 PT Dream Cruiser Series 2. It is a limited production model which has every available option for that year. Most of the work I performed myself in spare time.
First thing I did to my PT was paint. It did come with Orange paint straight from the Factory as a part of the Dream Cruiser Series 2 package, my original plan was just to shoot some cool flames and be done. Little did I know after doing a few odds and ends to get the body a little more refined, that when I went to order paint I found out Chrysler had locked the custom paint code and wanted four times the cost of paint. So I decided to bite the bullet and go ahead and reshoot the entire car.   Here is a list of what I have done so far:

PAINT: The base color is Cadillac 3 stage Pearl White followed by four coats of House of Kolor Kandy Tangerine. Next I laid out the flames by hand and shot basic black for the base color followed by Copper, Gold, Silver, and Gunmetal Gray streaks throughout the layout so the colors pop in direct sunlight grabbing your attention as you walk by. I then did a deep Brandywine drop shadow, and finished off with a hand pin stripe from Viper Red to Hugger Orange before burying the whole thing in tons of Clear.

INTERIOR: As for my Interior, I have two tone Slate Gray leather with Orange inserts. The door panels are also done with orange accents to match. The dash instrument cluster, air bag cover, center bezel, shift knob, and amp rack in the trunk have all been painted to match.

AUDIO/VIDEO: This was my first attempt at doing audio myself so its still a work in progress. I built my box and covered it to match the rest of my interior. I built the amp rack from $3.00 of PVC pipe which I heated and bent, then smoothed in with body filler, sanded down and shot in the same candy paint as the rest of my ride. I also used a couple of PVC fittings to make small custom tweeter pods which I mounted in the center AC ducts behind the center bezel to kind
