Please tell us a little bit about yourself.
I’m a retired engineer from a big industry world-wide engineering/construction company. I have been building a custom home and two other cars in last 15 years since quitting work.
How did you first get interested in this hobby/passion?
I have been into cars since I was about 5-6. My grandfather had an 18 car garage full of old cars. He’d raced motorcycles in the 1910-20’s and had many still around the garage.
What Rides do you currently own?
A 2004 K1 Attack, a 1977 Porsche 911 slantnose/930 turbo conversion, a 1999 Porsche Boxster, and a 1915 Twombly (only 3 left in the world). I also just sold a F355 Ferrari kit car (I built pair of them 10 yrs ago) and a 1995 Subaru SVX.
What do you like most about your Cool Rides?
They are all unique. There are few like the K1 or 911 ever seen…
What is the best memory you have with your favorite ride?
Touring the Colorado mountain passes and Devils’ backbone in Utah these past 2 years in my Boxster. Plus all the charity car shows I entered the past 2 years since completing the Attack!!!
How do you store your ride(s) during infrequent use, and what maintenance tips can you provide for readers?
Most of my rides are driven monthly; the 911 & twombly are on blocks for years and not driven.
What was the first car you ever owned?
A 1963 Austin Healy 3000
What is/was the BEST car ever made?
There are too many to choose from.
What is/was the WORST car ever made?
How did you first hear about the Cool Rides Online website?
Through a local car show flyer.
Is there anything else you’d like the Cool Rides Online members to know about you?
I built the Attack and a pair of F355 kit cars completely by myself, including paint (except upholstery work). I also built and designed my current home (with a 5 car garage!!!).
