Please tell us a little bit about yourself.
I’m currently retired Air Force of 22 years. My last duty station was RAF Lakenheath. My last job was working as an office manager, prior to that it was fixing multiple types of aircraft with sheet metal, fiberglass and painting. While I was there, I was exposed to the best cars England had to offer. I have a deep driven passion to acquire things that are different. My views of looking at something has always been stepping out of the box to make the most out of projects I work on.
How did you first get interested in this hobby/passion?
Since I was 5 yrs old, I could remember when my parents bought me a Matchbox car which was a Lamborghini Countach! I loved the shape of it and got into streamlined models and architectural things. I also became a big 007 film fan because of the cutting edge stuff they had as well!
What Rides do you currently own?
1981 Mini Mayfair (it’s actually a 1988!), 1987 Audi Coupe GT Quattro (German Spec) and a 1979 Reliant Robin
What do you like most about your Cool Rides?
They were all driven regularly on the European roads and now they’re here in the US being driven and constantly getting attention, including from my neighbors!!
What is the best memory you have with your favorite ride?
Driving from England to France in the Mini with the engine running hot the whole trip. Surprisingly no break downs to and from there!
How do you store your ride(s) during infrequent use, and what maintenance tips can you provide for readers?
I mainly store the cars outside and drive them regularly to avoid sitting. These rides love the attention! My maintenance practice is to always keep the loose fasteners tightened, oil changes, keep the cars waxed and cleaned and when you’re not driving them for a long while, put them in a garage or get a car cover!
What was the first car you ever owned?
A 1974 Pontiac Ventura (Nova clone)
What is/was the BEST car ever made?
1989 – 1993 Vector W8 Twin Turbo (My dream car!)
What is/was the WORST car ever made?
A Pontiac Grand Am… absolutely hideous!
How did you first hear about the Cool Rides Online website?
I saw it on the right hand side of my Facebook page and clicked on it.
Is there anything else you’d like the Cool Rides Online members to know about you?
I secretly like the new Korean cars!
