My name is Gerry Sevigny. I am currently semi-retired and I live in North County San Diego. I did drag racing for many years and also ran C stock in the early 60s with a factory sponsored Pontiac GTO. I went on to run C Gas Car with an injected 1940 Chevy Coupe called Heavy Chevy. I first heard about Cool Rides Online when a friend of mine asked me to look at the website in order to vote for his truck.
Right now I own a 1936 Ford Club Cabriolet and a 1940 All Steel Willys Coupe. The Willys would be my favorite. It’s my second (the first was a glass body car with a blown and injected Hemi). It was fun but I told myself that someday I would own a steel body car. Here it is! It’s not so radical but it still can race. It is my dream car. Next up, I’ll be doing the Dr. George show in Palm Springs with my Cabriolet.
The most difficult modification that I’ve done has been upgrading the fuel supply on my Willys. It went from carb to electronic fuel injection. My favorite memory with the Willys was winning Best Hot Rod at Goodguys in Del Mar, CA last year.
I take care of my collector cars by always keeping them covered. I use a parachute because they work best and leave no dust. I hang it from the rafters.
I’ve been doing hot rods for most of my life. It’s my passion and I love it.
