Please tell us a little bit about yourself.
I am a self-employed landscaper for over 26 years in New England with a passion for Classic muscle cars.
How did you first get interested in this hobby/passion?
As far back as I can remember I have always loved cars. I collected Match Box Cars as a kid and as I grew old enough I started to buy cars and fix them myself. I can remember at six years old my friend’s mother came home with a brand new 1970 Road Runner 440 six pack in Plum Crazy Purple with white interior. I have been obsessed with Mopar since.
What Rides do you currently own?
I currently own a 1969 Plymouth GTX 440 Six Pack, a 1970 Dodge Dart Swinger 340 under restoration, and a 2013 Dodge Dart with custom stripes I had designed myself. My wife also owns a 1979 VW Bug Convertible.
What do you like most about your Cool Rides?
I absolutely love driving them, cleaning them and working on them. I feel this is the greatest hobby I’ve ever had. I enjoy getting together with family and friends at car shows and functions. Not to mention meeting new people at these functions as well.
What is the best memory you have with your favorite ride?
The best memory I have I think is when I won first place in my division (GTX) at an all Mopar event; especially after one of the people in that division came over to me and starting bragging to me about things they had that I did not. I stayed humble and congratulated them on placing second, while in my mind I was doing one of those in your face dances you see on TV.
How do you store your ride(s) during infrequent use, and what maintenance tips can you provide for readers?
I store my vehicles at home in a 25’x40’ tent that I made into a garage and in the winter in a storage facility nearby. When I store for winter I always fill the fuel tanks to prevent condensation and add stabilizer. I disconnect the battery and cover the cars up to prevent constant light exposure and to keep them clean.
What was the first car you ever owned?
The first car I ever owned was actually a 1973 Dodge Van 225 3 speed on the column my brother in law gave me when I got my license. We had a local illegal drag strip I used to go to and push the gas several times while in first gear, by doing this I could get the front wheels to leave the ground (Bad Front Shocks).
What is/was the BEST car ever made?
The best car ever made I feel was the 1970 Dodge Challenger T/A, a car I have always been infatuated with. I will own one someday.
What is/was the WORST car ever made?
The worst car ever made probably was the Ford Pinto. I used to own one and off roaded it for kicks until it actually broke in half.
How did you first hear about the Cool Rides Online website?
I heard about Cool Rides from a Classic Car Group I belong to.
Is there anything else you’d like the Cool Rides Online members to know about you?
I am a Mopar guy but I appreciate and enjoy all classic car makes & models.
