Please tell us a little bit about yourself.
My name is Mike Appio I live in Groton, CT. I build Submarines for a living after spending 13.5 years in the Navy stationed on them.
How did you first get interested in this hobby/passion?
I first got the itch in High School when my step dad got me my first car. it was a 1966 Chevelle Malibu Convertable 230cid straight six 2 speed powerglide, one barrel. It was so slow but it looked so good and I would shine it like crazy. I would “cruise the loop” as we called it every weekend with my friends. I loved the feeling driving that car gave me.
What Rides do you currently own?
I own a RestoMod 1966 Chevelle Malibu 572 6 sp.

It looks mostly stock and very subtle till I start up the beast.
What is the best memory you have with your favorite ride?
I got to win my first car show against my step dad and his GTO. It was the only time we ever got to enjoy our cars together. He passed away shortly after and it will me my best memory.
How do you store your ride(s) during infrequent use, and what maintenance tips can you provide for readers?
I store my car in my car trailer over the winter. If you don’t have a temperature controlled garage, use camper desiccant around, in and under the hood to keep the moisture down due to temp changes.
