Retired, have been a gearhead since a teenager. Always do my own work, no matter what.
How did you first learn about Cool Rides Online?
A member over on Rat Rods mentioned your site
What Cool Rides do you currently own?
1929 Model A street rod, 1981 Porsche 828, 1984 Porsche 928, 1986 Porsche 928, 94 Jeep YJ, Land Rover Discovery 1
Now tell us a little about your favorite “Cool Ride”; what makes it special?
Tough question, because I can drive a different car almost every day of the week, and frequently do. The Porsche are great fun but the Model A turns more heads, because it is totally a one of a kind, and it’s loud!
What’s next for your Cool Ride? Planning additional work for it or maybe a special trip/cruise?
Finishing up the exhaust system, then the local cars and coffee meetings. Maybe in the future pull the current Chevy 4.3L v6 and drop in a Porsche 928 – 5L 32v v8 engine – it would fit!
What was the most difficult modification you’ve completed on any of your Cool Rides?
A past Porsche 914 converted from Fuel Injection to 4 webers, and bored out to 1991cc. That was like a go-kart on the road, stuck like glue!
What’s your favorite memory involving your Cool Ride?
Hard to say, but probably taking a 928 down the Pacific Coast Hwy in California at around 130mph!
What is your dream car to own if money was not an issue?
The new Ferrari 488 Spider
Taking care of collector vehicles is not easy. Do you have any special tips on how to take care of your Cool Rides in and out of storage?
Always dry them off, clean road dirt from underside, store in a temp controlled garage. Clay bar every 4 – 6 months if they have had a lot of road use.
Is there anything else you’d like the Cool Rides Online members to know about you?
Always looking for projects to get involved in, always willing to help with advice, particularly auto electrical questions and help.
