Hello my name is Mike Coscullela. I’m 51 years old and I have had a love affair with cars since I can remember. I stumbled across Cool Rides Online through Facebook and thought it was a great way to connect and share with more car enthusiasts. I currently own four Chevrolet Novas: a 1969, 70, 71, and a 72. My favorite has to be the 1970 Nova. It was my first car and was given to me by my father over 35 years ago. Having four rides, it seems like I am always making changes and/or upgrades to all of them. My current objective is getting the 72 Nova that I autocross, plasti-dipped white which is a stark contrast to the current flat black paint job it currently has. I am also planning engine upgrades which include aluminum heads and fuel injection. The wheel flares on this car was by far the most difficult fabrication we had to do. Getting the car featured in Popular Hot Rodding and receiving the cover in the “NOVA Annual” by Super Chevy magazines are probably my most satisfying accomplishments. However, this accomplishment comes with a lot of help from family, friends, and skilled professionals. The relationships built while building cars is also a treasured by-product of the car crazy fraternity.
If I could offer one piece of advice to other car enthusiasts, having been around cars for over 40 years, it would be to drive the cars. It’s always sad to see too many rides sitting in garages and treated like trophies. Share your treasures with everybody. Take the family for a cruise, race at the tracks, go to a car show, etc. We are not promised tomorrow, so live for today and enjoy your rides!
