Featured Member of the Week: Straight8’s&Aces

Please tell us a little bit about yourself.

My name is Dennis and I’m from Bay City, MI. I’m a member of the Street Freaks CC, the Stromburgs CC, and I do some work at Damaged Goods Customs. I’m also an artist; I work mostly with a #2 pencil but I play with other mediums too.

How did you first get interested in this hobby/passion?

I got interested in cars from Hot Wheels that I collected as a kid, from watching the great car movies and TV shows growing up, and also because my dad had a thing for old cars; mostly Corvettes and Chevelles.

What Rides do you currently own?

I currently own a 1999 Dodge Ram 1500 4×4 that I found for sale and it turns out it was painted and pinstriped by Yosemite Sam Radoff. I also own a 1951 Packard 300 custom that was chopped, lowered, converted to a 2 door from a 4 door, and has a couple other custom touches. My 1939 Chevrolet Master Deluxe I picked up was just a body on an S-10 frame but I have been working on building it this winter. I also have a 1965 Mustang Coupe and 1969 Dodge Coronet that are both without engines and are sitting in storage till I can get to them.

What do you like most about your current rides?

What I like most about my rides is talking to car people at shows or just cruising around.

What is/are the fondest memories you have while owning your Cool Rides?

Some of my fondest memories are taking the Packard out in the morning and going for a drive out in the country, jamming to rock-a-billy music with nothing to see but the farm fields and old farm houses ahead. The sun is rising and nobody else is on the road; it’s like going back in time.

What was the first car you ever owned?

My first car that I actually owed was a 1973 Dodge Challenger with a 318 cui and a torqueflite.

What is/was the BEST car ever made?

I don’t know about the best car ever made but a car I would love to own is the 1938 Phantom Corsair.

What is/was the WORST car ever made?

Again, I don’t know about the worst car made but I definitely don’t ever want to drive a Prius.

How did you first hear about the Cool Rides Online website?

I found out about Cool Rides from a car show I went to.

Is there anything else you’d like the Cool Rides Online members to know about you?

I do draw peoples cars for money so If your looking for a gift for some one I can help.
