Please tell us a little bit about yourself.

One thing unique about me is that my job is to build concept cars and specialty vehicles.  I work at Five Axis and run all of the builds. I used to work for Metalcrafters doing the same sort of work. A few of the builds under me include the Chrysler ME412, Jeep Hurricane, Jeep Gladiator, Dodge Sidewinder, Dodge Charger, Dodge Power Wagon, and The Dodge M80 (Google these images and see what I am talking about). In fact, I was responsible for all the Chrysler/Dodge/Jeep builds from 1999 to 2005; any concept car made during that period was under my supervision.

How did you first get interested in this hobby/passion?

In the late 80’s I started to sketch cars in high school. It was Bob Glidden’s Pro stock Arrow that inspired me, and my first car was an Arrow. I wanted to do everything to make it go faster and look the part.  I was one of the first on the import scene (although the car was called a Plymouth it was built by Mitsubishi).  Lucky for me I had friends that had Mustangs, Camaros, F100’s, etc. I then started to hang out at the Malibu Grand Prix on Friday cruise night. There would be street racing and all kind of activities.

What Rides do you currently own?

Because my profession involved designing cars, I really did not need my own car. However, as time went on, I lusted after the ’69 Camaro; I really liked the body lines . So when I had the chance to get into a build I went after a 1969 SS Camaro which turned into the Pioneer Stage 3 RS / SS LSA vehicle.

What do you like most about your Cool Rides?

I like to see what other people are doing and to have the ability to share my ride with others. Having a cool car is one thing but being able to show it around is another. Cool Rides Online allows for me to show it in places other than So. Cal.

What is the best memory you have with your favorite ride?

Showcasing the vehicle at CES was a highlight, and we were on the Hot Rod POWER TOUR and attended the Car Craft Nationals in 2011. The best memory was at INDY, when I was able to park the car in Gasoline alley and take the images that I am showing. To be at INDY and have the ability to drive the car around the track was the highlight of the power tour!

How do you store your ride(s) during infrequent use, and what maintenance tips can you provide for readers?

The car is in my garage under a satin cover and is pulled out almost every weekend and on Fridays to drive to work. If it is raining then it stays in the garage. One thing I always have is a battery tender on the car when not in use. The battery is the one item that can just kill your day if you go to start the vehicle and the battery is dead. I hate that.

What was the first car you ever owned?

That would be the Plymouth Arrow. It was lowered, with the first paint job in red and orange stripes and then the car was painted black. It did have a turbo added, but later taken off due to reliability reasons. It also had duel webers. The car looked pretty good and was clean like the Camaro.

What is/was the BEST car ever made?

That is tough question; there are so many cool and good cars. For me, the Concept cars that I built were some of the best cars ever made.

What is/was the WORST car ever made?

There is not just one, but to be blunt, the Yugo, Pontaic Aztek, and the Chrysler/Maserati to name a few.

How did you first hear about the Cool Rides Online website?

I found it on Facebook!

Is there anything else you’d like the Cool Rides Online members to know about you?

Just lucky to be involved with the Auto design industry.  It was something that I dreamed about growing up, but I did not have the guidance to go to Design school. So, I went another route by being a design engineer instead of  “Designer”; there is a difference.  My experience allows me to bring the designer down to earth and provides me with a challenge on how to build what they envision.  I am lucky I get to play with cars all day and they pay me to do it, can’t beat that!
