Please tell us a little bit about yourself.
I retired from the University at Buffalo in 2006 as Associate Dean for Resource Management. My final year as a once a week league bowler I averaged 217 and bowled two 300 games. I enjoy golf and golf equipment and am currently a 10 handicap. I attend the PGA Merchandise Show every year in Orlando, Florida. I’ve been to the Masters and am going again this Spring. I played 5 of the top courses in Ireland. I enjoy traveling and going on cruises.
How did you first get interested in this hobby/passion?
I have always been interested in nice cars and my first was a 1965 black Mustang convertible. I also owned a 1969 Roadrunner. I wish I still had those cars! I was in Naples, Florida and attended an exotic car show and decided to get a sports car when I retired. I drove the 2007 Sky Redline turbo and immediately ordered one. I started with modest ghost flames by Jimmy Shine Custom Paint and went back for a two tone custom paint job. I added some carbon fiber paint effects, including the hood. I went to Sound Choice Audio and Performance and added some performance and style upgrades. I changed the interior from red/black leather to orange/black to match change in paint and more recently to Casullo’s Interior for current custom upholstery in graphite swede and black. I’m working on some current changes for an upcoming car show.
What Rides do you currently own?
Currently I own a 2003 diamond white Acura TL 3.2 and a 2007 Saturn Sky Redline, two tone, silver pearl and black with custom paint effects.
What do you like most about your Cool Rides?
I can afford the changes I’ve made and are in process. I’ve been involved in the planning and design of the changes. I love driving my Sky and it is an attention getter. Besides car shows, going to cruises is fun and enjoy the crowds’ attention to my car. Most ask me “what is it” and say “very cool”. Hence my license plate: VERYKOOL.
What is the best memory you have with your favorite ride?
Aside from the sheer driving enjoyment, I took it to the drag strip and ran faster times than some vettes and mopars. Dynowed at 305 RWHP and 324 RWTQ. I/8th mile 8.94 sec., 80.24 mph. 0 to 60, 5.23 sec.
How do you store your ride(s) during infrequent use, and what maintenance tips can you provide for readers?
Living in western NY, I keep it stored in my garage during winter (unless it is being modified). It’s just covered, put on trickle charger and started occasionally. I haven’t had any problems so far!
What was the first car you ever owned?
A 1965 Mustang convertible, standard trans.
What is/was the BEST car ever made?
For the money, my 1969 Roadrunner. I really like exotic foreign cars like Lamborghini and Ferrari. It doesn’t get much better.

Edsels and Corvaires.
