1990ChevyC1500(1)Please tell us a little bit about yourself…

My name is Anthony. I’m 24 and I’m originally from Houston, Texas but I’ve lived on the coast most of my life. My dad raced cars on dirt track for as long as I can remember and he was a mechanic even before then. I picked up everything I know from him and this truck has been our project for a couple of years. Now that his health has created some issues, I’ve decided to finish it myself.

How did you first learn about Cool Rides Online?

I first heard about CRO from Rick aka Richard Boutwell.

What Cool Rides do you currently own?

My Cool Ride is a 1990 Chevy C1500.

Now tell us a little about your favorite “Cool Ride”; what makes it special?

My Cool Ride is my 1990 Chevy C1500 and what makes it special is the fact that my dad and I put the work in together. The paint is Kobalt Blue and has 3 individual stripes, that seem to accent the color with perfection. The maroon interior is all original, with the exception of seats and the upgraded sound system.

What’s next for your Cool Ride?  Planning additional work for it or maybe a special trip/cruise?

My next few upgrades will include a new true dual thrush glass pack exhaust and a complete engine overhaul. As for now, I plan to participate in as many car/truck shows as possible on the coast.

What was the most difficult modification you’ve completed on any of your Cool Rides?

The most difficult modification I’ve completed on the 1990 Chevy C1500 was the Kobalt paint that was done in the front yard in a completely uncontrolled environment. Every factor comes into play when painting outside; wind, humidity, dust, temperature.

What’s your favorite memory involving your Cool Ride?

My favorite memory involving my ride would be the day my dad and I put both of our old school Chevy’s side by side. The idea of us cruising together in a car and truck show after all the work we put together to make this dream a reality.

What is your dream car to own if money was not an issue?

As cliché as it sounds, I believe that I have the dream truck for me. What I would love most is to be able to add a 454 with performance cams and the exhaust to give it that old school sound.

Taking care of collector vehicles is not easy.  Do you have any special tips on how to take care of your Cool Rides in and out of storage?

I wish I had the answer to this question, but I’m honestly still learning on my own.

Is there anything else you’d like the Cool Rides Online members to know about you?

I’m pretty open to suggestions and I love to learn. I may not have the best ride that money can buy, but I own it, and I put a lot of time and effort to get to where I am now.
