This upcoming April will mark the 1-year anniversary of the Cool Rides Online® website and we would like to thank everyone who has participated and supported us for a great first year! We have met a lot of great people both online and in person as we have travelled the car-show circuit. We have also featured many COOL Rides and hosted some great competitions along the way! And it’s all thanks to you! Thank you for sending in your amazing pictures and stories. That is the reason we were able to have the type of year that we did!
We launched the site by hosting the 2010 Cool Ride of the Year competition which was won by Don Noone’s 1976 Ford “Pirates of the Caravan” Van and with a $1,000 early registration sweepstakes that was won by Cool Rides Online member, BigGreenRam! This got us off to a great start and participation has been growing since!
As sponsors and exhibitors of great shows like the Hot Rod Power Tour, Syracuse Nationals, Woodward Dream Cruise, Barrett-Jackson and many others, we were able to see some great rides and most of all, meet some great people! People like Pontiac-fanatic Steve and his 1980 Sunbird, drag racer Shawn and his 1972 Vega, featured member Dan and his 1972 Nova, simply too many great people to name them all!
To show our appreciation for the community’s continued support, the sponsor brands, STA-BIL®, 104+®, Start Your Engines!® and Iso-HEET®, will be running promotions on the forum for the entire month of April! Every weekday, we will select members who have participated on an “Anniversary-Topic” to receive free product and apparel. At the end of every week, we will choose one person from each “Anniversary-Topic” thread to receive a $100 gift card! We will post a new Anniversary-Topic every week starting next Monday April 2nd so remember to check-in and participate; YOU could be the next winner!
In the meantime, I will leave you with three fun nuggets about our first year online:
- The site was visited over 125,000 times
- Visitors viewed over 530,000 pages
- Visitors stayed on the site a total of over 347,000 minutes
