I’m 55 years-old and I have been self-employed in the auto industry for 30. I’ve been building hot rods since I was 15— I saw this 1965 c10 when I was 15 years-old…
30 years later I bought it and started building. It has won 1st place awards at about every show that it’s been to. The biggest award was at Texas Motor Speedway at the 2015 Good Guys Rod and Custom show where it won first place in the Home-Built Heaven.
I also have a 1958 Impala built to replicate the one in American Graffiti except for it being a pro street 468 Chevy engine with 200 shot of nitrous. I am also building a 1967 SS Camaro convertible triple black LS powered and multiple others including a Nova SS and Chevelle SS.
My favorite memory with my Cool Ride has been driving the ‘65 to Texas for the Good Guys show in March. Another favorite memory would be this last fall when I had the truck on the track at Texas Motor Speedway and I did three laps at 135 mph on the straightaways.
The most difficult modification I’ve made would be the hand-painted distributer cap to match the truck: two-tone with pinstripes.
If money was no issue the Hemi Cuda would be my dream car!
