My Experience at the 2013 Syracuse Nationals: “The Largest Car Show In the Northeast”

The STA-BIL Engine Answerman™ Tour returned to the Syracuse Nationals, “The Largest Car Show in the Northeast” July 19-21 for another great weekend for the Engine Answerman team. With 7,882 cars on site, up a little over 100 cars from 2012, 2013 was another record-breaking year.

86,000 visitors converged on the New York State Fairgrounds over three days along with hundreds of campers and vendors. Add in live music and a host of special attractions and you’ve got a recipe for a great event!

Friday morning came with a flurry of attendees flooding the gates at 8:00am, one hour before opening. Our booth was constantly busy, with folks asking loads of questions, mainly about ethanol and how it affects the fuel system. We were busy the entire weekend, talking about classic cars and how to protect them.

Saturday was jam packed. Even an afternoon rain shower couldn’t dampen the enthusiasm of the thousands of spectators that streamed into the Fairgrounds. Thanks to our friend Rob O’Connor of Right Coast Events, we had an excellent spot right near the stage. Rob and his crew take very good care of us, and it is a pleasure to work with such a fine team of event professionals.

303 Products made their debut at the Syracuse Nationals. Many people who own a boat or an RV were aware of the brand especially303 Aerospace Protectant and told us they are big fans. We were encouraged with the responses of folks when we told them that 303 Products will soon be more widely available.

During the weekend, we had a chance to get around the Fairgrounds and mingle. And I love to mingle! I met many old friends from previous Syracuse Nationals and also made many new friends, especially from Canada. There were 1,200 classic cars from Canada on site this year, and our Canadian friends were really enjoying themselves. I also had the chance to cruise around the Fairgrounds taking pictures of the collector cars to post on our Engine Answerman Facebook Page.

Marcel Manzano of Gold Eagle Co., creator of Cool Rides Online joined us for the weekend to visit with folks and meet many Cool Rides Online members including Robert Vau with his 23T Bucket. Leroy Santana and Bruce Kaufman completed our team for this tour stop.

It was another great weekend at the Syracuse Nationals. Next stop, Sturgis, South Dakota for the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally!
