Charlotte Motor Speedway Theme Week continues today here at the CRO Blog. Yesteday we looked at some of the highlights from the recent Spring AutoFair event held at the track. Today we will take you into Richard Petty’s World and experience racing from his driver’s seat.
Any NASCAR fan will squeal at the idea of jumping into a racecar and speeding around a track. Thanks to the Richard Petty Driving Experience, it is possible to feel a fabulous adrenaline rush while lapping a speedway. Here is a closer look at how visitors at Charlotte Motor Speedway can get the thrill of a lifetime.
What Is Included in the Richard Petty Driving Experience?
No prior race training is necessary for the Richard Petty Driving Experience. It is possible to choose between different activities, and prices will vary. For example, a participant can ride shotgun for three thrilling laps in an authentic NASCAR vehicle on the same track driven by the professionals. For a true adrenaline junkie, another option includes experiencing speeds approaching 165 mph. Grab the wheel and put the foot to the floor for at least eight laps around the track. Even a younger fan can get involved with a junior ride-along.
Since safety is a top priority, everyone must sit through a short seminar on procedures and rules. Then, it is onto the track. As each participant waits for a turn, everyone is fitted with NASCAR driving suits and helmets, and the nerves build. Stepping into the vehicle and taking a spin completes the adventure.
