Mecum Auctions – Kansas City Preview: March 11-12

Mecum Kansas CityIn March, car collectors and aficionados will be heading to Kansas City to take a peek at rare and antique cars from around the globe. Mecum will be hosting the event. At this year’s Kansas City auction, attendees will have the opportunity to admire and bid on antique automobiles, classic models and modern vehicles. This is the place to be when rare automobiles are of particular interest.


Auction Details

This yearly event will be held at the Kansas City Convention Center on March 11 and March 12. The auction will feature a large number of American made cars and foreign automobiles. According to event organizers, there will be around 700 vehicles available for auction.

Mecum is a family-owned organization that hosts auctions in different cities around the United States. The company has been in the business of selling collector cars for 29 years, and it offers more than 20,000 lots every year. Mecum’s headquarters are in Walworth, WI, and for the last five years, the company has received the number one ranking for the most collector cars available for auction. It has also earned this distinction for the number of automobiles sold at auction. Mecum is an industry leader when it comes to auction venues. The company even holds the world’s largest collector car auction every year in Kissimmee, FL.


Offering a Taste

At this year’s auction, attendees will have the chance to bid on a Pontiac GTO Humbler from 1970. This black muscle car is a convertible, and it features a dual exhaust, automatic transmission and a 400/350 horsepower engine.

A 1968 Shelby Fastback will also be on hand at this year’s Mecum auction in Kansas City. This shiny black classic includes a 428 CI Cobra Jet Engine and power steering. This particular vehicle was recently restored, so it gleams in the same way that it did when it first appeared on the showroom floor.


Watching it At Home

Car aficionados who are unable to stop by the auction in person will have the opportunity to watch the show on television. The event will be broadcast live on March 12. Tune in at 12 pm. Organizers also rebroadcast the event later in the day. The Mecum auction is the car event of the season. Those who attend will have the chance to see timeless automobiles and modern beauties.
