GDRA Saturday, Jun 23rd, 2012 – 6.90, 7.80, 8.60, & 9.50 classes!

GDRA Race #3 Presented by Homer Tree Service

The next event of the GDRA 2012 season which will be presented by Homer Tree Service is right around the corner and in the 8.60 class so far, one man is on a clean sweep of the season. Ken Kendall has won 2 out of 2 races in that class and will be going for his 3rd straight at the next race on Saturday June 23rd, 2012 at Great Lakes Dragaway in Union Grove, WI as part of the Nitrous Street Car Brawl. The GDRA will once again make the trip to Great Lakes Dragway and bring its high octane, nitrous snorting, tire smoking brand of excitement out for the fans and will be putting on one heck of an amazing show. The 6.90, 7.80, and 8.60 classes will be competing this go around and have a large number of entries already received.

Will we see another rematch of Big Wagon versus Little Wagon in the 8.60 class? They squared off again in race # 2 during the semi-final round of competition. This time #1 Qualifier Steve Roden and the steel bodied Poncho Wagon would have a little premature startgasim and turn on the red light trying to get that extra edge against Ken Kendall and his Little Vega Wagon that could. In the past two outings Steve has come very close to getting the win against Kendall and the races have been nothing short of spectacular. Will Roden finally be able to get the “W” against Kendall? We’ll see on the 23rd. Don “Hollywood” Mateika is looking to make his first apparence with the GDRA along with returning drivers CJ Williams, Tony Orts, Steve Peterson, and many more. Will we see Gordy Frank and Rich Wilhelm battle it out for the win in the 7.80 class once again? Smart money says yes and Frank has been a very dominate car in the that class. New comer to the GDRA for the 2012 season, Rich Wilhelm has a couple issues he is working on squaring away but one thing is for sure, at some point in 2012 he is most likely to get that top spot honor. Will Joe Palmer and his beautiful AES Racing Engines powered Pontiac GTO make it win number 2 for him this season? Or will he have to battle it out with John Scali and his AES Racing Engines mountain motored nitrous beast this time? Or what about the gorgeous Camaro belonging to Curt Fredrich? Lots to be unraveled on race day so I guess you’ll just have to come on out and check out the action.
