I attended Motorama this year representing Gold Eagle and Cool Rides Online. They placed me in the Speed Show section of the complex. This place is unreal. With over one million square feet of space they pretty much fill everything. My section had a lot of the vendors for the event as well as a Speed Show car show. This show included cars, trucks, street rods, race cars, sprint cars, go carts, and I even saw a racing lawn mower there.
Other parts of the building are set up for go-cart racing, quad racing, and motocross racing for all ages. The little ones are the best. RC racing of large and small scale was actually divided into two sections. It was amazing to see these cars go around the tracks. I explored these areas after I had everything set up on Friday. They had started racing and practicing so it was easier to see these events going on. They were still prepping the motocross area in the big arena so there was not any racing going on.
I was able to take several pictures in the Rod, Custom and Tuner Show area as well as the Speed Show area. The level of some of these rides is unheard of. Some of the displays were great. In particular, a coffin car set up in a graveyard setting was unreal. There were Lamborghinis, a Lotus, a McLaren and other supercars in this one display. Lots of rat rods, low-riders, big 4×4’s, customs, Camaros, Corvettes, Mustangs, etc. There were all kinds of Cool Rides throughout the entire complex.
Saturday morning the doors opened and the people came to the show in droves. Everyone had their own area of interest. My Gold Eagle/303/Cool Rides booth drew a lot of attention. I spoke with a lot of people regarding the 303 and STA-BIL products. Saturday’s attendance was over 37,000 people. It was not hard to tell as there was a constant flow of people by the booth. Sunday’s attendance was down some but still over 17,000 people came out to the event. This was their best attendance and set the record for over 54,000 people attending a 2-day event in the winter.
This is a great event to come out to and I look forward to doing this show again next year. I have placed our van in the show in 2012 and 2013 and during both shows we won Best Interior. This was a great honor for us.
If you happen to be in the area of Harrisburg, PA and would like to attend Motorama next year, the dates are Feb 18th and 19th 2017.
