This year I represented Cool Rides Online and Gold Eagle at Motorama in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania at the Farm Show Complex. This year I chose to be in the Rod, Custom and Tuner Car Show area—the car quality in this area was second to none: Lambo’s, Ferrari’s, Matech Ford GT-1, Ultima GTR, and so much more.
I was set up in a great area with plenty of foot traffic as it was located near where everyone would be heading to the arena for the motocross races as well as to see the RC races and robot wars. There are events going on all over the place in this complex.
One of the most memorable cars of the event was a 1969 Chevy Malibu that was parked right across from me. It was owned by Melissa and Jeff Moose of Hanover, PA. The car was meticulously restored and maintained. The display was tastefully done but the engine was miraculous. I had never seen Lexan valve covers. These are functional and not just for show. They are NHRA approved. Jeff told me that they did win the Judges’ award as well as a $100 award.
I was able to look up online and found out that the 1948 GMC Panel Truck owned by Ed Laman won Best of Show at the Rod, Custom, Tuner Car Show area. I have seen this truck before. It is a beautifully done truck with an LS motor.
This is a great event to go to in the middle of winter even when it does not feel like winter. I am hoping to have our van back at Motorama one of these years. I am sure CRO and GE will be back many years in the future as well. So, if you have nothing to do next year on February 17th and 18th and find yourself in Harrisburg, PA, make a point of stopping at the Farm Show Complex for Motorama—you will not be disappointed.
