Three Coolest Cars From the “Fast and Furious” Franchise

“The Fast and the Furious” is an American action movie franchise that centers around various heists and illegal street racing. Throughout the original movie and seven sequels, there were a number of vehicles that pushed the limits of what is possible behind the wheel of a car. Here are the three best automobiles from the series.

1970 Dodge Charger R/T – “The Fast and the Furious”

1970 Dodge Charger RT - The Fast and the FuriousThe 1970 Dodge Charger R/T was the car driven by recurring character Dominic Toretti throughout the movie series. It appeared in the original film and three sequels, the highest appearance count for the franchise. In the movie, the Charger belonged to Toretti’s father, a noted racer, and was famous for its incredible 900 horsepower. Under the hood, the car had a supercharged Chrysler 426 HEMI V8 engine, which extended onto the bonnet. It is definitely one of the most iconic cars to live up to the “Fast and Furious” title.

1999 Nissan Skyline GT-R R34 – “2 Fast 2 Furious”

1999 Nissan Skyline GT-R R34 - 2 Fast 2 FuriousA 1999 Nissan Skyline GT-R was Brian O’Connor’s main ride in the first sequel. Although this car was never sold in the United States, it was used in the film due to its high-octane appeal and was given a C-West body kit, 19-inch HRE 446 polished wheels, and a dazzling platinum pearl paint job.

For more than 20 years, the Skyline has been a powerhouse of Japan’s sports car scene. Its incredible performance came from a turbocharged inline-6, four-wheel drive system and numerous technical features that heightened the car’s grab on the road. Although only advertised at 276 horsepower, this vehicle could produce much more force than described.

2000 Honda S2000 – “The Fast and the Furious”

2000 Honda S2000 - The Fast and the FuriousThe S2000 first appeared in the movie when Johnny Tran and his gang entered the garage to interrogate Ted. Later in the movie, it was used to race Jesse during Race Wars.

Besides its attractive exterior Veilside body kit, it provided amazing performance. Thanks to a Comptech supercharger, it produced an estimated output of 350 horsepower. The vehicle also included a Vortec adjustable fuel regulator. It was one of the most unforgettable cars ever produced.

Even though there were numerous domestic and import vehicles featured in the films, the above three cars top the list of the best in the franchise. Each contains superior performance and styling that will always be remembered as “Fast and Furious.”
