Jerry Seinfeld and Jay Leno are known for being extreme car enthusiasts. However, some other well-known celebrities have interests in vehicles as well. Here are three of the coolest celebrity car collections.
Celebrity Car Collector – Reggie Jackson
“Mr. October,” Reggie Jackson, played Major League Baseball for more than 21 seasons. Besides sports, he took an interest in cars. His ultimate goal was to own one of every top Chevy engine ever made. Although some of his cars were sent to auction at one point, his most noted vehicles included a1969 ZL1 COPO Camaro and 1941 Willys Steel Coupe. His COPO Camaro was one of 10 produced with the Fathom Green exterior color. It delivered high performance with an all-aluminum 427 ZL-1 engine, special-duty cool air hood, heavy-duty springs and a BE heavy-duty 4.10 posti-traction rear axle.
Jackson wanted a Gasser-era Willys, so he worked with his friend Roy Brizio to create some retro “magic.” The car included a coil-over suspension and a 6-71 supercharged 426 Hemi with a computerized four port Hiborn injection for maximum control. The candy red color put the car over the top.
Celebrity Car Collector – Ralph Lauren
Clothing designer Ralph Lauren has a collection of more than 60 vehicles, consisting of European classics. One of his first cars came when he successfully became an independent label. His reward was a1971 Mercedes-Benz 280SE 3.5 Convertible.
His Lamborghini Reventon reminds him of a sleek sculpture. This car is the only one of its kind in America. Its extreme characteristics are a prime example of fine aeronautics. The Reventon Roadster can reach top speeds of 330 km/h.
Celebrity Car Collector – Shaquille O’Neal
With his large athletic frame, Shaquille O’Neal has found it necessary to fill his car collection with custom favorites. Many times, he has been spotted in super-sized versions of traditional supercars. For example, the stars of his collection include a strech Lamborghini Gallado and Superman Cadillac Escalade. His Lamborghini was finished by Gaffoglio Family MetalCrafts. The doors, roof and side windows were extended, adding a foot to the car’s length. Shaq’s custom Cadillac features a Lexani body kit and matching burgundy exterior. The vehicle is finished with Superman emblems on the front grille and interior headrests. The Lambo doors and superior audio system make it one sweet ride.
