Three of the Coolest Rides of Pro Athletes

Professional athletes play hard for a living and often enjoy showing off cool cars. Some of the rarest and most beautiful automobiles are owned by sports professionals. Darren McFadden, Carmelo Anthony and Alexander Ovechkin are athletes who own some of the coolest rides in the world.

Darren McFadden’s 1972 Buick Centurion

Darren McFadden 1972 Buick CenturionDarren McFadden is a running back for the Oakland Raiders. He has invested a great deal of money into customizing a 1972 Buick Centurion. Back in the day, the Centurion was introduced as a luxury vehicle that had a hint of muscle. It contained a 455 big block engine that could reach 0 to 60 mph in 9.4 seconds. The purple paint job on McFadden’s Centurion makes it a spectacle. Besides the color, the vehicle sits on 32-inch Asanti wheels with 335/30/32 Yokohama tires. Each wheel is bright green with a chrome lip. Also, the 15-inch suspension lift sets it apart from the crowd. Inside, McFadden insisted on a custom metal dash and special stereo system. The clean and unique design was built as an improvement over the original version he owned before he became famous.

Carmelo Anthony’s 1964 Lincoln Continental

Carmelo Anthony 1964 Lincoln ContinentalCarmelo Anthony plays basketball for the New York Knicks. After every game, he rides home in style. One of his coolest cars is a 1964 Lincoln Continental. An original model included a V8 engine and Turbo-drive automatic transmission. Anthony drastically customized his “Carmelo Continental” with yellow window tint and a blue suede interior. The most obvious changes are the suicide doors, Bellagio wheel spinners and Dunlop SP Sport tires.

Alex Ovechkin’s 2009 Mercedes-Benz SL65 AMG Black Series

Alex Ovechkin 2009 Mercedes-Benz SL65 AMG Black SeriesOne of the NHL’s best players is Alexander Ovechkin. His car collection is filled with fast and cool vehicles. When it came to his 2009 Mercedes-Benz SL65, he wanted something unique. With the help of Designo Motoring, he freshened the exterior of the car with a matte-blue paint job. Ovechkin also added a set of 20-inch concave ADV glass black wheels, Brabus puddle lamps and smoked rear taillights. The entire appearance was kept classy but was pumped for maximum glory.

The above cars are a sample of the coolest cars owned by professional athletes. It seems these individuals enjoy riding in style and injecting fun into automobiles.
